PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having a high sensitivity and capable of obtaining a good image and enabling a rapid treatment at a high temp. and a less tendency for generating a fog by incorporating a specific org. compd. to a silver halide emulsion layer or its adjacent layer contg. silver halide particles having a prescribed amount of AgI. CONSTITUTION:One of the silver halide emulsion layers contg. 0.5-10mol% AgI in the prescribed particles comprises a compd. shown by formula I wherein Z is P or N, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each an (subtd.) alkyl, an aryl or an aralkyl group, at least one of R1-R4 groups is an electron attracting substituent such as NO2, CN and a halogen atom, X<-> is an acid anion such as Cl<->, ClO4<-> and BF4<-> or a compd. shown by formula II wherein A is S or Se, B1 and B2 are each a nonmetallic atom capable of forming a hetero cyclic ring, X2<-> is an anion. An adjacent layer of the prescribed layer comprises >=20mol% AgI in the particle of the silver halide emulsion layer. The titled material gives a good image characteristics and has an improved safe life property. |
