Arrangement for cleaning the window of a vehicle, having a window wiper arm which can be moved to and fro by a drive in a swivelling fashion and a window wiper blade fastened on the arm and having an elastically deformable wiper strip made of rubber or plastic. There is superimposed on the swivelling movement a transverse movement on the window surface, the transverse-movement frequency of which is higher than the swivelling-movement frequency. On the window surface the wiper strip executes, as a transverse movement, a rubbing movement which is superimposed on the swivelling movement. The rubbing movement takes place at a rubbing-movement frequency which is at least ten times higher than the swivelling-movement frequency.
