The invention relates to a directional valve with a control device, especially for discharging rinsing water and washing liquor from the tubs of washing machines. To prevent a considerable volume of water not participating in the washing program and in the rinsing operation from forming between the valve and tub, the valve is attached directly to the tub. However, since, in operation, the tub executes a vibrational movement and, especially during spinning, is exposed to high acceleration forces, the control device is arranged at a distance from the tub and is connected to the valve by means of a flexible hose line.
