PURPOSE:To obtain a stable freeze-dried antibacterial preparation, by adding an alkali metal halide as a stabilizer to the antibiotic substance disclosed in the Japanese Patent Laid-open No.59-62596. CONSTITUTION:The titled antibacterial preparation having high stability can be prepared by adding an alkali metal halide, preferably NaCl or KCl as a stabilizer to 7beta-[2-(2-carbamoyl-2-fluorovinylthio)acetamido]-7alpha-meth-oxy-3-[ 1-(2- hydroxyalkyl)-1H-tetrazol-5-yl ]thiomethyl-1-d-ethia-1-oxa-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid alkali metal salt of formula (R is 2-hydroxyalkyl; M is alkali metal). The amount of the stabilizing agent is preferably 2-5wt% of the compound of formula. Although the compound of formula freeze-dried by conventional method loses its titer during storage, the decomposition can be prevented by the addition of the above stabilizer. |
