摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent density unevenness of an image due to interference effect by forming a blocking layer made of a-Si, a photoconductive layer, and a surface coating layer contg. N in a specified concn. distribution on a conductive substrate in succession. CONSTITUTION:The blocking layer 3 made of a-Si, the photoconductive layer 4, and the surface coating layer 5 contg. N each in a concn. distribution continuously changing from the layer 4 to the surface in at least one position are laminated on the conductive substrate 2 in succession to form a photoconductive material 1. The layer 4 contains, preferably, at least one of elements of groups IIIa and Va, and microcrystals, and the layer 3 contains, preferably, at least one of elements of C, N, and O and at least one of elements of groups IIIa and Va. Since an optical hand gap is large on the side of the free surface of the layer 5, light reflection decreases, thus permitting interference effect and uneven image density not to occur, and a sharp image to be obtained by using laser beams.
