PURPOSE:To satisfy a function required for a sound editing of digital VTR and to eliminate a restriction for cross fading time at insertion editing, by providing a rotary head device which has destination reading head and simultaneous reproduction head, and the delaying device to supply the output of the destination reading head. CONSTITUTION:The output of a destination reading head is supplied from a terminal of a switch 6 to a reproduction processing part 7, and the output of a simultaneous reproduction head 5 is supplied from the other input terminal to the reproduction processing part 7. The output of the reproduction processing part 7 is impressed to a hybrid part 8, and the output of the hybrid part 8 is impressed to a recording head through a record processing part 9. To the other input terminal of the hybrid part 8, outside signal is supplied at the time of editing fro a signal source 10, and its output is connected to an output monitor12 from a switch 11. The output of the hybrid part 8 is also connected to the other input terminal of the switch 11 through a delay device 13. The delay device 13 gives the delay equal to the difference between the signal reproduction by the destination reading head 3 and reproduction of signal by the simultaneous reproduction head at the normal reproduction speed.
