PURPOSE:To detect a defective unit immediately by unitizing the whole system and easily make the diagnosis of every unit visually and immediately even if the system is shut downs. CONSTITUTION:A data central processing unit CPU2 coupled with the test terminal 7 of a system unit 1 when an input signal for diagnosing is supplied to the terminal 7 diagnoses itself whether the data communication function of the unit 1 is normal or not. The diagnostic result is inputted to a driver circuit 3 and then an electrooptic converting element 4 turns off or emits light with uniform brightness if the function is abnormal. When the function is normal, on the other hand, the element 4 is flashed at a specific oscillation frequency. Therefore, when a diagnostic input is supplied to the unit 1, an optical fiber cable 5 is disconnected from the connector 8 of a relative device 6 and the output light of the cable 5 is monitored to judge whether it is normal or not, thereby confirming the state of the unit 1 visually at once. |
