PURPOSE:To make it possible to omit a step of immersing chips in a colorant liquid, a drying step, and other steps, by mixing previously a colorant with a binder before the binder are mixed with the vegetable chips or mixing a colorant and a binder separately with vegetable chips. CONSTITUTION:The reason why a self-emulsifiable isocyanate compound is excellent as binder is that the allowable range of water content of chips is wider than other binders, and the heating time under pressure may be shortened. The obtained colored particle board is excellent in fixed color stability and has favorable properties such as antidiscoloration in water. As a self-emulsifiable isocyanate compound is of a water dispersable type, the workability during the production is good, and it can be used with other water-based binder or replaced thereby easily. Since the colorant and the binder can be used as a mixture or can separately be added to vegetable chips, the dipping of vegetable chips in the colorant liquid or the subsequent drying step can be omitted. |
