<p>There is disclosed a process for assaying a tissue specimen for non-A, non-B, hepatitis antigen. The process comprises: (a) providing a tissue specimen to be assayed; (b) contacting the tissue specimen with a non-A, non-B hepatitis antibody; (c) contacting the resultant tissue specimen with a biotin-avidin system; and (d) determining the presence of non-A, non-B hepatitis antigen present in the tissue sample. Also described in an analogous process for assaying for non-A, non-B hepatitis antibody in a biological sample. A diagnostic kit and a fixed, embedded tissue sample are also disclosed.</p> |
