SINGLE CRYSTAL SCINTILLATOR

摘要

PURPOSE:A single crystal scintillator that is composed of a specific gadolinium silicate activated with serium, thus energy resolution becomes minimum on the maximum fluorescence power. CONSTITUTION:The objective single crystal scintillator is composed of a serium- activated gadollinium silicate of the formula: Gd2-xCexSiO5 [0.03<=X<=0.007 (preferably 0.004<=X<=0.006)]. Said scintillator is prepared, e.g., by using an irridium crucible of 70mm height and 70mm inner diameter and pulling up a single crystal of 35mm diameter with a composition of Gd1.995Ce0.005SiO5 at a speed of 3mm/hr form the melt according to the Chokralsky method.
