PURPOSE:To store a shopping basket mounting board of a bard code reader in the device body when the board is unnecessary and to project the board up to the height proper to working if necessary by rotating the board of which projected part is moved along a groove by a fitting of which section is L-shaped. CONSTITUTION:When the board member 28 stored in the recessed part 22 of the device body 1 of the bar code reader is rotated so as to be lifted in the front direction, i.e. in the clockwise direction, the projected part 30 of the member 28 slides on the groove 23 of the body 1 upwards and the member 25 having the L-shaped section which is optionally coupled with the member 28 at its projection 27 rotates the projected part 26 around the shaft slightly in the counterclockwise direction. One end surface of the member 28 is pressed against the inner bottom surface of the recessed part 22 and the member 28 is projected to the height proper to horizontal working. The member 28 is similarly stored in the recessed part 22. The shopping basket mounting board is stored in the device body when the unnecessary, and if necessary, can be projected up to the height proper to the working.
