PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption, to eliminate the need to use the mechanical shutter excepting the time of starting and to enable to control simply and quietly the laser output in a laser by a method wherein the laser beams are made to output on the readout surface during the time when the laser tube is being preheated after being light-shielded by the light-shielding means and after the laser tube is made to start, the intermittent control to the laser output is performed by directly performing an ON-OFF of the laser tube. CONSTITUTION:A laser power source 2 is turned-ON and after an He-Ne laser tube 3 is made to start, the laser output is interrupted by controlling a mechanical shutter 4 for 2 or 3min during a drop in the laser output. After an elapse of the time to preheat the laser tube, an ON-OFF control is performed on the laser power source 2 through a control part 1. In case of intermittent readout, an ON-OFF control to the power source 2 is repeated. |
