OPTICALLY DIFFUSIVE MATERIAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an optically diffusive member having excellent workability, heat resistance and permeability and a good diffusion effect by constituting said member of opaque quartz having internally many pieces of fine foam. CONSTITUTION:Siliceous stone or silica sand is used as a raw material and said material is heated to melt and is slowly cooled, by which the opaque quartz contg. the fine foam is obtd. The optically diffusive member consisting of the opaque quartz formed in the above-mentioned manner exhibits an extremely good diffusion characteristic over an extremely wide wavelength range of 180-4,000nm and diffuses satisfactorily laser light of near IR-IR regions as well. The diameter of the foam is 5-500mu, more particularly preferably 10-100mu and the quartz in which >=30 pieces, more preferably 100-500 pieces for each 1mm<2> area of the foam exist is adequate.
