On inserting porous nib holder 22 into the barrel of a reservoir writing instrument filled with ink absorbing material (16), the parts 42a and b are urged towards one another to grip the nib 24 by means of axially spaced projections 52. Slots 50 are extended beyond shoulder 44 to provide air vents 51 for the assembled pen. An air vent channel (18) extends throughout the length of the filling material (16). The holder 22 may be of nylon or polypropylene and the nib 24 of bonded fibrous material or compacted felt. |
