The invention relates to a temporary wound closure comprising two strip-like sheets of a suture material which is at least partially coated with plastic, and on the regions of these sheets which overlap each other in the closed state mutually engaging, profiled closure strips are provided and can be brought into engagement by a clamping slide, and in that the strip-like sheet which is the lower one in the closed state has below its profiled closure strip a sealing and protecting strip extending over the entire closure region.
