A system to protect against burglary or thefts consist of a coded card (1) comprising a fixed code and a keyboard (4) for introducing a code which can be chosen freely, at least two coded card readers (8, 9), a reader (8) to read the fixed code outside an external safety area (6) and a reader (9) arranged inside the outer safety area or outside an internal safety area (7) to read the freely chosen code, which it automatically erases after having read it. A control unit programmable with the coded card opens and closes the safety devices and/or triggers an alarm device. The information is transmitted from the readers to the control unit and from the control unit to the safety devices and/or to the alarm device by electronic transmission devices.
