The appts. checks the electrical conductivity of the mass, and comprises an electrode holder which is inserted in the mass, a pair of electrodes fitted at a fixed distance from one another on the holder with contact surfaces for the ion exchange mass, and an electrically insulating distance holder fitted between the electrode contact surfaces. An AC source is connected to the electrodes, and a measurement circuit arrangement monitors the current path impedance between the electrodes. The space between the contact surfaces (35A,36A) of the electrodes is bridged over by a part (37A) formed from fluorethene plastic of the distance holder (37). The electrode holder comprises a tube (31) at the one end of which is fitted one (35) of the electrodes, the contact surface (35A) of which together with an external cover surface of the distance holder (37) and a part of the contact surface (36A) of the second electrode (36), forms an extrusion of the cover surface of the holder tube (31) cover surface. - The AC source used is an oscillator which produces an undeformed sine wave. |
