PURPOSE:To increase a processing accuracy of a head and to improve an introduction efficiency to a MR element of a signal magnetic flux by installing a non-magnetic surface which is parallel in the track width direction and inclined in the gap depth direction and arranging the MR element on this. CONSTITUTION:At the opposite side of a gap protruded surface of a magnetic substrate 11, a non-magnetic material 13, which is parallel in the track width direction and inclined in the gap depth direction, is formed. An MR element 15 is installed on a inclined surface 13a, and next, a non-magnetic film 16 and a magnetic film 17 are formed. A magnetic circuit is composed of these substrate 11, the MR element 15 and a magnetic film 17. For this reason, since for the processing accuracy an accuracy only of the border between a gap part and the non-magnetic material 13 is required, and after that, the accuracy is determined by that of the mask, a satisfactory processing accuracy can be obtained. The end part of the MR element 15 is opposite respectively to a magnetic circuit forming body, and the introducing efficiency to the MR element 15 of the signal magnetic flux can be improved. |
