PURPOSE:To print clear draft characters without changing line spacing or digit place spacing, by a system wherein character data for ordinary high-quality characters and character data for draft characters simplified only in shape are stored in a single memory, and either one kind of the character data is selected by a character kind selecting means. CONSTITUTION:A draft character 3 is obtained by simplifying parts 2a-2d of a high-quality character 2. The simplification enables to print at a higher speed. Character data for the draft characters 3 and character data for the high-quality characters 2 can be stored in a single memory, and either one kind of the character data can be selected by a character kind selecting means. When the draft characters 3 are selected, the printing is conducted with the same line spacing and the same digit place spacing as those in printing the high-quality characters 2. |
