Apparatus for the electrochemical treatment of a metal article, of the type comprising at least one first electrode 1 associated respectively with a second electrode 2 consisting of the metal article to be treated, each first electrode-second electrode pair being in contact with an electrolyte and connected to a source of electrical current to form an electrolysis system, characterised in that in each pair the first electrode 1 has passing through it one or more passages 3 which are associated with means 14, 15, 16, 17 for continuous feeding of electrolyte and which extend from the upstream face to the downstream face of this first electrode 1, taking the direction of travel of the electrolyte into consideration, the area to be treated of the second electrode 2 being arranged near the said downstream face so that the electrolyte flows continuously between the said area to be treated and the said downstream face, forming a film. <IMAGE>
