PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound from easily obtainable raw materials in high yield, by producing 1,2,3-Trichloro-1,1,2,3,3-pentafluoropropane from chloroform and tetrachloroethylene, and reacting it with a dechlorinating agent. CONSTITUTION:1,2,3-Trichloro-1,1,2,3,3-pentafluoropropane is obtained from chloroform and tetrachloroethylene through 1,1,2,2,3,3,3-heptachloropropane, 1,1,2,3,3,3-hexachloropropane, and 1,1,12,3,3-hexachloro-22,3-difluoropropane.Then, this compound is reacted with a dechlorinating agent such as zinc, iron, copper, etc., preferably a molar ratio of the former to the latter of 1/1.2-1/3 at 50-80 deg.C in a solvent such as preferably dioxane,etc.,usually at 1 atm., to give the titled compound advantageously.
