PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and floating property of the head by eliminating the backlash of the carriage in up-and-down, right-and-left, and seeking directions by mounting on the carriage pulley bearings and a pre-load bearing from horizontal and perpendicular directions respectively but both being appropriately angled. CONSTITUTION:On the head carriage 1, at least two pulley bearings 2 are mounted in a manner that their center axes are appropriately angled toward the center axsis of an electric motor pinion 9 but perpendicular to a straight guiding spindle 4, and also, at least one pre-load bearing 8 in a manner that its center axis is appropriately angled toward the pinion 9 but perpendicular to the straight guiding spindle 4. the pre-load bearing 8 pushes a pre-load shaft 6 which is fixed to a main frame 3 and eliminates the backlash that occurs between a rack 10 and the pinion 9 and that between the pulley bearings 2 and the main guiding spindle 4.
