PURPOSE:To improve the transient response under acceleration/deceleration in a system where a movable valve for varying the exhaust port area is provided at the upper edge of an exhaust port in the inner face of cylinder to be opened/closed through a piston, by enabling control of the movable valve with correcpondence to the throttle valve opening as well as the engine rotation. CONSTITUTION:In a system where a scavenging port 8 and an exhaust port 9 opening to the inside face of cylinder 2 are opened/closed through reciprocation of piston 3, the opening of a movable valve 10 in 2-cycle internal-combustion engine 1 where the opening area of the exhaust port 9 is varied throug a rotary movable valve 10 provided at the upper edge is controlled through common electronic control section 11 incorporating a microcomputer 15 together with the ignition timing of an ignition plug 7. The microcomputer 15 is provided with engine rotation N, throttle valve opening thetat, cooling water temperature T, etc. detected respectively through a pulser coil; 16, a throttle sensor 18 and a water temperature sensor 19.
