PURPOSE:To stabilize the quality of printing by using a capping mechanism consisting of a cap enclosing position and a cap half-opening position. CONSTITUTION:In the enclosed state of a cap, in case where no printing signal is present for a fixed period of time, a motor becomes an inversely turning state automatically. Under the condition, when a micro switch is turned on, a cap 27 is slightly separated from an ink jet head to become a half-opened state. Whereupon, the front face of the nozzle 1B is covered with the cap 27, moisture on the surrounding of the nozzle is given by an absorber 31 is a rubber part 20 to prevent the vaporization of ink and moisture from the nozzle 1B. Also, the intrusion of air into the nozzle 1B is prevented by the expansion and contraction of air in the cap 27. The discharge of ink can thus be stabilized and the quality of printing can be raised and stabilized. |
