The invention relates to a lock for doors in places of detention, with change-over blocking tumblers which are mounted vertically adjustably on a bolt shank and, when the bolt shank is pushed out, can be fixed on a holding pin arranged on the lock plate. During the locking operation, the blocking tumblers cooperate respectively with a locking tumbler of a first locking-tumbler set which, like a second locking-tumbler set connected to the locking tumblers of the first set, can be actuated by a key insertable respectively from one side. The lock can be opened only with the key-bit stepping with which it was closed. To make it possible to open the lock by remote control, that is to say draw the bolt head connected to the bolt plate into the lock case, the bolt head is arranged on a bolt plate which can be coupled to the bolt shank via a coupling member and which, in the uncoupled state, is displaceable between its end positions by means of a remotely controllable drive. It is thereby possible to open and close the lock remotely, for example to let authorised individuals pass through, without the need for these individuals to be accompanied by guard personnel having the appropriate key.
