In order to make possible a detachable, sealed flange connection of pipes whose flanges are not aligned sufficiently parallel to one another to produce a sealed connection, an annular body (26) is proposed which can be inserted between the sealing surfaces (20) of the flanges. The annular body (26) has two annular discs (32, 34) which run at a distance from one another and with the insertion of seals (42) rest on the sealing surfaces (20). Since the annular discs (32, 34) can spring with respect to one another in the axial direction, they compensate for the unequal mutual separation when the flanges are braced with respect to one another, while the seals (42) ensure that the connection is sealed. <IMAGE>
