The installation (10) anchor chain is divided, and a length of wire (19a) is connected between the parts. The wire is laid out whilst the auxiliary vessel (17) moves away from the offshore installation which at the same time pays out the inner chain part (16b). - When the anchor (14), with the aid of a chaser line is laid into position, the offshore installation pulls the inner chain part (16b) so that the anchor (14) engages firmly in the sea bed, and the upper end of the wire is lifted towards the installation. |
