摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a stable transmission characteristic without variance by impregnating a monomer which generates polymers of different refractive indices into a specific crosslinked polymer contg. the specific non-polymerizable material to form a refractive index distribution from the center toward the surface then removing the 3rd material. CONSTITUTION:The polymerizable monomer E which forms the polymer having the refractive index different from the refractive index of the crosslinked polymer D obtd. by polymerizing a monofunctional polymer A, multifunctional monomer B and the 3rd material without having a polymerizable functional group is diffused into said polymer D to provide the continuous density distribution from the center toward the surface thereto and thereafter or while said distribution is given thereto, the unreacted monomer is polymerized and in succession thereto or at the same instant thereof, the 3rd material having no polymerizable functional group is removed, by which the optical transmission body made of the synthetic resin having the continuous refractive index distribution is obtd. The optical transmission body is kept free from cracking in the stage for diffusing and impregnating the monomer E into said body even if the polymn. of said body is completed by the above-mentioned operation. There is no variance in the transmission characteristic of the optical transmission body in each of production lots and the stable optical transmission body is obtd.
