PRODUCTION OF SUBSTRATE FOR POLYCHROMATIC LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a liquid crystal display device from color shift by using shadow masks formed on a substrate as pattern masks to form electrodes on the substrate and forming each color filter between the shadow masks. CONSTITUTION:The shadow masks 2 are covered with a projection film 4 and a photoresist layer is applied to the surface of the protection film 4. The back of the substrate 1 is exposed to form a photoregist layer having the same pattern on the shadow masks 2 and transparent electrodes 5 are formed on the basis of lift-of method by using the regist pattern. Then, the color filter layers 6 are formed on the opposite side of the substrate 1 by printing or the like so that these color filters 6 are positioned between the shadow masks 2. Subsequently, a projection film 7 is applied to the color filter layers 6, an orientation film 8 is applied to the transparent electrodes 5 and the treated substrate 1 is adhered to a substrate 9 having opposite electrodes to hold torsionally oriented liquid crystal 10.
