PURPOSE:To automatically eliminate sag of an ink ribbon through only fitting an ink ribbon cassette, by a construction wherein a take-up core and a driving body therefor provided on a carriage are provided with driving pieces for rotating the core when the core is fitted to the driving body. CONSTITUTION:A fitting surface of the take-up core 7 of the ink ribbon cassette 1 is provided with a driving piece 7a inclined upward in one direction, which piece 7a collides against a trapezoid driving piece 9a projected on a fitting surface of the driving body 9 when the cassette 1 is fitted to the carriage 4. Therefore, the cassette 1 can be fitted by simply pushing it toward the carriage 4 in the direction of an arrow A, and by the pushing-in operation, the core 7 itself is always rotated in a taking-up direction by the collision of the driving pieces 7a, 9a, whereby the ink ribbon is constantly and automatically maintained in a sagless tensioned state. |
