PURPOSE:To separate a preceding seedling growing case and complete placing thereof in layers before the next seedling growing case is brought for allowing continuous operation by providing a desired number of quick traverse rolls for quickly conveying the seedling growing case transferred from a transfer table to a support frame. CONSTITUTION:Seedling growing cases 7 are transported in series with the front ends 80 connected to the rear ends 79, until they reach the taking-out side 6 of a transfer table 1. When the front end 80 of a seedling growing case 7 reaches a quick traverse roll 54, the case is separated at a position shown by an arrow a, because the quick traverse roll 54 rotates quicker than transfer rolls. The quickly carried seedling growing case 7 is stopped, when the front end 80 comes in abutment against a switch 81, and the rear end 79 passes a quick traverse roll 49 to be laid on a support frame 4. The above switch 81 causes chains 34, 35 to be lowered, moving the seedling growing case 7 down onto receiving rings 23. During the time, the next seedling growing case 7 is slowly transported by transfer rolls 4. Then, another support frame comes in turn to the receiving position. The above operation can be repeated. |
