PURPOSE:To prepare a stable emulsion by enhancing emulsifying power to oil, by preparing an emulsifier composition containing alkanolamide of oleic acid and a nonionic surfactant with HLB of 10-18 as essential components. CONSTITUTION:Alkanolamide of fatty acid and a nonionic surfactant with HLB of 10-18 are compounded in a wt. ratio of about 1:9-9:1 and used as essential components to prepare an emulsifier composition. As alkanolamine, there is monoethanolamine or diethanolamine and, as a nonionic surfactant, one with HLB of 10-18 such as polyoxyethylene alkyl ether can be used. The amount to be used of the emulsifier composition is about 0.5-30pts.wt., pref., about 1-20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of an oil component. As the oil component for forming the emulsion, there are mineral oil, animal and vegetable oils or waxes.
