PICTURE DATA PROCESSING METHOD

PURPOSE:To automatically smooth vector data of a picture by executing interpolation of a curved line for the vector data obtained by extracting binary coded picture data based on the function representing the weight of a string of dots. CONSTITUTION:Fig. A and Fig. B are the drawings describing a procedure for executing interpolation on 4 vector data points Vi+1-Vi+4 and Ni+1-Ni+3 in Fig. B represent a weight function of Vi+1-Vi+3. That is, the weight function that interpolates the section between mode point string Xi+1-Xi+2. As the weight function becomes greater, the interpolation curve approaches from the spectrum data point. When a weight function is in general represented with a curve of second degree, smooth interpolation and a smooth curve is obtained as the real line shows in Fig. A.
