摘要

3-Cyano-azetidine cpds. of the formula (I) are prepd. by reacting 3-hydroxyazetidine cpds. of the formula (II) with an alkylsulphonyl halide in a water-immiscible organic solvent followed by reaction of the resulting soln. of 3-alkylsulphonyl-azetidine product with an aq. soln. of an alkali metal cyanide in the presence of a catalytic proportion of lipophilic phase transfer catalyst. R1 = arylmethyl; R2 = H, alkyl, aryl or aralkyl.
