PURPOSE:To eliminate rainbow coloring from the slant view of a liquid crystal cell, to enhance the gas impermeability of the base plate and to lengthen the life of the cell by forming a transparent electrically conductive film on one side of a specified uniaxially oriented polyester ether film. CONSTITUTION:The transparent conductive film is formed on one side of the uniaxially oriented film of the polyesterether having >=85mol% repeating units each represented by formula I in which X is halogen or 1-3C alkyl, preferably, chlorine, m is an integer of 2-4, and n is an integer of 2-6. A preferable polyester ether is polyethylene-bis-alpha,beta-(2-chlorophenoxy)ethane-4,4'-dicarbo-x-ylate, and this polyester ether may have other repeating units, so long as they are <=15mol% of the total constituents.
