PURPOSE:To enoughly transfer a consolidating load to a soft ground and to perform excellent improvement of the ground, by a method wherein a water permeable sheet is sewed together at edges on both sides by means of a thread being soluble in water to form a cylindrical body, and the interior of the cylindrical body is filled with sand to form a sand drain. CONSTITUTION:A water permeable sheet is sewed together at edges on both sides by means of a thread soluble in water to form a cylindrical bag body 3, the interior of the cylindrical bag body 3 is filled with sand to form a sand drain 2, and the sand drain 2 is formed in a soft ground 1. Thereafter, when consolidating loads 4 and 5 are placed on an area where the sand drains 2 are formed, the thread, by means of which the cylindrical bag body 3 is sewed, is broken by a moisture content in the ground or broken due to contraction of the soft ground 1 occasioned by the progress of dehydration due to consolidation to spread the diameter of the cylindrical bag body 3, and the sand drain 2 is prevented from being compacted. This enables the consolidating loads 4 and 5 to be sufficiently transferred in the soft ground 1, resulting in the possibility to perform excellent improvement of the ground. |
