PURPOSE:To prepare piezoelectric ceramic powder useful for various electronic parts such as filter, oscillator, ignition element, delaying element, buzzer, etc., by adding manganese to a lead titanate zirconate in liquid phase by a practical process. CONSTITUTION:A composite composed of the elements of lead, titanium and zirconium is coprecipitated and calcined, and the powder is dispersed in an aqueous solution. An aqueous solution of manganese acetate is added to the dispersion, and the objective piezoelectric ceramic powder containing manganese is precipitated from the mixture by the use of ammonia water as the precipitant. As a preferable example, lead nitrate, tetraisopropyl orthotitanate and zirconium oxynitrate are used as the starting raw materials of lead, titanium and zirconium and coprecipitated by the use of an aqueous solution of ammonia as a precipitant, an aqueous solution of manganese acetate is added thereto, and the titled powder is precipitated by using ammonia water as the precipitant. |
