The invention relates to light equipment for highway maintenance of the sweeping brush type intended to enable the sweeper to easily remove rubbish located below parked vehicles. It comprises an aluminium stick made up of two parts 14 connected by a return spring 6, a hinge 5, a plastic tube 7 sliding inside the stick and guided by segments 8, a handle 4 used to select the working positions, two cones, male and female 11-12 intended to hold the brush bristles, themselves mounted flat between two self-adhesive strips 15, a retractable hook fixed by means of a joining piece to the lower part of the sliding tube for freeing rubbish wedged between the vehicle wheel and the kerbstone. The applications of the invention are relevant essentially to city cleansing departments, and to industrial companies for cleaning up workshops, in manufacturing units below the machine-tools. <IMAGE>
