PURPOSE:To easily specify an erasure range and to perform erasure by indicating a specific range on an original with transmitted light with its scanned surface up, and discharging electrostatically a part corresponding to the indicated range while the original is scanned with the scanned surface down. CONSTITUTION:The original set on an original platen 2 is scanned by an optical system which uses an exposure lamp 4, and a reflected light image from the original is guided to a photosensitive drum 10 and formed on the surface of the drum 10, thereby forming a charge pattern. A spot light source 131 as a means which indicates the erasure range of the original is provided movably onto the guide shaft 230 of a carriage 411 which moves forth and back the optical system. The original is placed on an original platen 2 with its scanned surface up, and the transmitted light from the light source 1313 is used to specify the erasure range, whose indicated coordinates are stored. Then, the original is scanned with the scanned surface down and charges at the part on the surface of the drum 10 corresponding to the indicated range are erased by an erasing array 15 provided between the electrostatic charger 11 and exposure part Ph of the drum 10. |
