PURPOSE:To select fishes precisely and efficiently by arranging a lens between a semiconductor image sensor and a light source and arranging two pairs of orthogonal carrying devices between the light source and the lens so that these pairs are rotated in the same direction at the same speed while holding a space each other. CONSTITUTION:When a fish l5 is moved in the arrow direction and arrived at a position on the space between both the conveyers 9-1, 9-2, the fish 5 shields the light projected from the light source 3, so that the image sensor 1 is turned off when light is not made incident or turned on at the incidence of light and a pulse proportional to the width of the fish is outputted from the image sensor 1. These pulses are integrated every input of a pulse from an encoder to calculate the number of pulses corresponding to the area of the fish 5. Consequently, the size of the fish 5 can be selected on the basis of the area ratio. |
