PURPOSE:To reduce the intake of raw water, to reduce the amt. of a flocculant, and to reduce the amt. of waste water by recovering a rinsing liq. which is returned to a raw water tank and reutilized in flocculating filtration. CONSTITUTION:Raw water is taken in at 2,200m<3>/day, and sent at 2,400m<3>/day to a sand filter 8 along with 200m<3>/day rinsing water recovered in a raw water tank 2. The 2,200m<3>/day water in the filtered water is sent to a filtered water tank 9, and the 75<3>/day filtered water is used as backwashing water through a line 15. The water after being used as the backwashing water is discharged into a gutter 11 from a discharged line 10. The remaining 200m<3>/day water is used as the rinsing water, and then recovered in the raw water tank 2 through a line 17. To obtain 2,125<3>/day filtered water, 2,200m<3>/day raw water is necessar ily taken in, and 75m<3>/day water is discharged.
