A cheese mould for use in preparation of cheese consists of an inner box 1 with relatively slight wall thickness and an external structure 2 of reinforcement ribs. This structure makes it possible to fashion the cheese mould in an advantageous manner from plastic material. The structure offers a number of different possibilities. Thus, the cheese mould can have modular construction from a number of basic elements. Furthermore, the inner box can be a loose box, which is placed inside the rib structure. The loose box can then be used as a holding mould for the cheese. The side walls of the box can be hinged to the bottom of the box, so that the side walls can fold out and thereby make it easier to remove the cheese from the mould. <IMAGE>
