PURPOSE:To make a drawing except excess data even when plotting data contains the excess data by providing a controller with a coordinate discriminating means which discriminates coordinates of each plotting data block. CONSTITUTION:The controller 1 is provided with a coordinate discriminating means 18 which discriminates the coordinates of each plotting data. The means 18 is stored with various data necessary for a drawing operation previously, and an input information inputted as a plotting data 10 is compared with the stored data to discriminate whether there is excess data or not. Then when it is confirmed that there is excess data, the excess data is not supplied to a plotter body and the next data block is processed to carry on the drawing operation so that the excess data is excluded. Thus, the controller 1 is provided with the means 18 to make a drawing except the excess data even when the plotting data contains the excess data.
