<p>A tape spool (16, 18) adapted for mounting on and rotation relative to a cylindrical pin (60) extending perpendicularly from a first wall (12) towards a parallel second wall (14) defining an enclosure (10) and adapted to-engage both of the walls (12, 14) and resist movement toward either, including a first flange (54) adjacent the first wall (12). a second flange (52) adjacent the second wall (14), a hub (56) interconnecting the flanges (52,54) and providing a cylindrical winding surface (58), a bore (64) through the first flange (54) and into the hub (56) which closely but freely surrounds the pin (60), a tubular collar (66) interposed between the first wall (12) and the first flange (54) to support the first flange (54) out of contact with the first wall (12), which collar (66) has an inner diameter (68) allowing free passage of the pin (60) and a thin wall to reduce the area of contact between the collar (66) and the first wall (12), a wear-button protrusion (70) extending beyond the second flange (52) coaxial with the hub bore (64) to contact the second wall (14), and a spring (72) interposed between the spool (16, 18) and the protrusion (70) for biasing the protrusion (70) toward the second wall (14) and the spool (16,18) toward the first wall (12) so that axial movement of the spool (16, 18) relative to the pin (60) is resisted.</p> |
