A cation-exchange membrane having perfluorosulfonic acid gps. on one side, perfluorocarboxylic acid gps. on the other side, and an embedded reinforcing net, is bonded to a film of a resin contg. F by contacting a bonding piece, which includes a cation-exchange resin of the perfluorosulfonic acid type, with the side or the edge of the resin film, so that at least part of the bonding piece overlaps the perfluorosulfonic acid side of the membrane and the resin film. The assembly is then heated so that the overlapped part is bonded to the membrane and the resin film.
