The invention concerns a method for liquid-tight sealing of an openable join between two web-shaped material sections 2, 2, there being arranged in the area of the join, on facing end edges of each material section 2, a first and a second zip fastener half 3a, 4a; 3b, 4b situated on facing side surfaces of the said material sections 2, and there being arranged, in the area between the said zip fastener halves 3a, 4a; 3b, 4b, at least in one end edge of the one material section, a sealing member 5a, 5b of liquid-tight, elastically compressible and/or expandable material which, in the unloaded state, has a volume which exceeds the distance between the facing end edges of the material sections when the corresponding zip fastener halves 3a, 3b; 4a, 4b are closed, the said sealing member 5a, 5b being pressed under elastic compression/expansion into liquid-tight contact between cooperating surfaces. The invention also concerns a device for liquid-tight sealing of an openable join between two web-shaped material sections 2, 2, which consists of zip fastener halves 3a, 4a; 3b, 4b arranged on facing sides of the facing edges of the said material sections 2, which zip fastener halves are intended to be closed in pairs on both sides of the said join to form closed zip fasteners 3, 4, and at least one elastically compressible and/or expandable sealing member 5a, 5b which is arranged between the said zip fasteners when these are in the closed position and which, under the effect of compression/expansion, is pressed against sealing surfaces for liquid-tight contact. <IMAGE> |
