PURPOSE:To facilitate the fitting to a transfer plate by a method wherein the peripheral edge of a flat preform, which is the future peripheral edge part of a vessel, is formed and pinched by the stepped part formed at the lower end of a blowing core in order to perform orientation blow molding. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a holding mold 2 and an injection mold 3 and a core mold, which fits to both the molds 2 and 3, are clamped by means of an upper and a lower clamping cylinders 5 and 6. Secondly, molten resin is injected from an injection unit 7 into the injection mold 3 in order to form a flat preform 8 with a peripheral edge, which is formed between the top surface of the holding mold 2 and the underside of the core mold 4. Thirdly, the preform 8 after the completion of temperature control and the opening of mold is transferred together with the holding mold 2 by shifting a transfer plate 1 to an orientation blow molding position and clamped. At that time, a stepped part 19a presses the peripheral edge 8a of the preform 8 against the holding mold 2 by means of the clamping force so as to pinch the peripheral edge 8a of the preform together with the holding mold 2. Finally, the preform 8 is stretched to the bottom of a cavity 15 and at the same time expanded fully in the cavity by blowing the compressed air in the cavity in order to form a cup-shaped vessel 22. |
