PURPOSE:To obtain a laser beam machine for positioning a focus of a laser machining beam at a machining part of a work at all times by constituting it so that plural projecting means and photodetecting means on a machining head nozzle, and a distance between the respective optical spots and machining lenses is measured. CONSTITUTION:In a laser beam machine for focusing a laser machining beam 1 by a machining lens 2 provided on a machining head 11, positioning its focus at a machining part of a work 6, and machining it, a projecting means consisting of a projecting source 4 and a projecting lens 5, and a photodetecting means consisting of a photodetecting lens 7 and an optical position detector (PSD)8 are provided by plural pieces each on the tip part of a machining head nozzle 11a. An optical spot on the work 6 irradiated by said projecting means is made to form an image by said photodetecting means and also its image forming position signals iA, iB are sent out. Based on this signal, a distance between said each optical spot and machining lens 2 is operated in a processing circuit 18, and subsequently, a distance l between the machining part of the work 6 and the machining lens 2 is derived from its result, and said focus is positioned at the machining part by adjusting said machining head 11. |
