PURPOSE:To confirm easily the contents of all broadcasting channels at one district without making a receiver complicated and large by displaying simultaneously the picture of the plural channels in the CRT screen. CONSTITUTION:When a multi-mode is selected at an operating part 27, a CPU24 is operated, plural pictures are displayed in the screen of the CRT10, and the prescribed backsound is outputted from a speaker 14. In such a case, one desired channel is indicated for a tuning-in part 51, in the turned-in video signal, respective signals Y, R-Y and B-Y are removed through a multi-plexer 16, and stored to a memory 18 after A/D conversion 17. When one field of the video signal is stored, the CPU24 transfers the memory contents to a display memory 21. The video signal of the area corresponding to a picture of plural channels of a memory 21 is displayed simultaneously to the CRT10 by a TV synchronizing signal. On the other hand, the prescribed backsound is read from a generating part 29 and give to the speaker 14.
