PURPOSE:A high concentration of surfactant is added on the enzymatic reactions to effect dynamic determination of cholesterol using nicotinamideade ninedinucleotide (phosphate)-dependent cholesterol dehydrogenase. CONSTITUTION:Dynamic determination of free or bound cholesterol with NAD (P) dependent cholesterol dehydrogenase is carried out by adding a high concentration of surfactant on the enzymatic reactions. The concentration is preferably 10-100g/l (1-10% in the reaction mixture). The surfactant is, e.g., a nonionic surfactant such as polyoxyethyl (9, 10) p-t-octylphenyl ether.
